- Well Ken, You have exposed an other grey area of the part 97 ;)

- I brought up this issue with the local repeater trustee who thrives in
- grey area operations. The repeater normally identifies with the trustees
- call sign using mcw. He was able to turn on the voice id feature to
- satisfy part 97.

- For a day the personality of the repeater changed :) english voice id

- Two codeless hams figured out the callsign of the repeater, and one extra
- class ham thought he was on the wrong repeater.

- After a day of voice identification a no-coder was heard telling his
- friend that the -beeper- was far better than the voice. He knows he is on
- the right repeater because -it has rythem-.

- After hearing that, the trustee put on a grey sweater and programed the
- mcw id back into the repeater.
